One of my favorite activities has always been reading. I'm an English major, what'd you expect? To me a house doesn't really feel like home if there isn't a cozy place to curl up with a good book. Or, since it is still summer, a cool place I can sit back with a glass of lemonade and read.
I've been following Jones Design Company for a while and the other day Emily suggested Where'd You Go, Bernadette as a read. I hopped on over to Amazon and read a few reviews, all of which were highly praising Maria Semple's genius humor. I've really been in the mood for something light hearted, which is why I've been trudging through the Game of Thrones series lately (don't get me wrong, I love it, but I just want something a little happier at the moment). I also read some of the sample pages available online and I've been sucked in. So I've decided to take a bit of a break and read this little gem instead. At least I hope it's a gem. I don't really know yet.
I will try and read the book relatively quickly so I can get a review up here. I plan on downloading it on my Kindle tonight. If you've read this book already let me know what you thought of it below (please, no spoilers, though). If you would like to read the book with me you can always purchase it on Amazon by clicking here. I would love to hear your thoughts as you read through it. We could discuss our opinions like a proper book club if you like.
