Hubby and I have already been to two Halloween celebrations. First on Thursday we went to Riff Trax Night Of The Living Dead and then on Friday we went to Fright Night at the Natural History museum. If you've never heard of Riff Trax or Mystery Science Theater 3000 it is essentially 3 guys who take a bad movie and play it while telling jokes, or riffing, over the top of it. It's really fun and a more interactive movie experience. Most of the movies they use would make me either fall asleep or get up and leave part way through if it weren't for their hilarious commentary. If you've never been, you should definitely go to the next one (it should be in December).
Fright Night was an interesting experience. It was basically a bunch of adults dressed up in costumes drinking and wandering around the museum. There were costume contests, IMAX movies, food, etc. We went as the Doctor and his TARDIS. I actually had a full blown costume I had purchased, but it didn't ship in time so my friend's mother painted a TARDIS on to a blue apron for me. It wasn't quite as gorgeous as the initial one I purchased, but considering I asked her to create 40 minutes prior to the event, I think it turned out amazing!
We still may have another event or two or we may end up staying inside watching It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and giving candy to adorable children. We'll just have to wait and see!
