Butterbeer is here! I now officially declare this the Holiday Season!
For those of you who were never Harry Potter fans I want to start out by saying Butterbeer is non-alcoholic. So for everyone thinking I'm having beer for breakfast, that is not the case. Butterbeer is a sweet drink that tastes like a mixture between cream and butterscotch, and now you can get it at Starbucks. It's good. Really good. It is also terribly sweet. For those who would like to grab some butterbeer of their own, this is the recipe I took in to Starbucks.
Warm Grande Butter Beer
- Whole milk steamer caramel syrup, 3 pumps.
- Toffee nut syrup, 3 pumps.
- Cinnamon Dolce syrup, 3 pumps.
- 2 shots of espresso
- Top with whipped cream and salted caramel bits.
I printed the recipe and brought it with me. I'm glad I did because when I mentioned butterbeer they had no idea what I was talking about. I just handed the cashier the recipe and let them read it over. So much easier than having to repeat it over and over and it made it easier for them to create the drink. I've got to hand it to them, when the cashier asked if they even made butterbeer the barista said, "Well, we'll create it!" They were great sports about the whole thing. I don't normally tip at Starbucks, but I did this time.
Muggles beware, though, this drink is only available through the holiday season. Unfortunately the key ingredient, toffee nut syrup, is not offered year round.
