Guys, yesterday was a not so very good day. I didn't post anything because when I finally had free time I was so stressed I just needed to do absolutely nothing, which is pretty much what I did. I watched some Harry Potter before going to bed, the first movie when they are all so tiny and cute. Then I remember that I was that tiny when the movie was made too, since I'm a year younger than Daniel Radcliff, and that makes the movie seem so old! I still love it. Some of the animations may not be as impressive as I remember them when the movie first came out, but it is a great story and has such a great cast.
Ahem. That was the long way of getting to the point that today's post will have TWO days of Advent smooshed in together.
Christmas is a time of year I think nearly everyone enjoys, but as you
become an adult it tends to lose a bit of the magic it had when you were
a kid. I wanted to give some of that magic back to my husband so I
created an advent calendar tailored specifically for him. If you would
like to make one I posted a tutorial on how I made mine
here. If you are curious about the origins of the advent calendar there is a nice little history
here.
December 18: Eighteenth Day of Advent
Hubby absolutely adores
Samuel Smith's Nut Brown Ale. It's a decadent drink and not cheap for a beer since it is imported, but a fun way to treat yourself. We recently discovered that
World Market sells the smaller bottles and you can buy them in a four pack, or put together your own six pack! I wanted to put something other than a note in Hubby's bag and I wasn't going to put a six pack of beer inside, so I saved one of his old Guiness bottles and tapped a note to it. The plan was to swing by after work and pick up the six pack before heading home. But, they didn't have any left when I got there! Instead I put together a bunch of beers that I thought he would like, but hadn't tried before. That way he gets to experiment with some new things. We'll see if he likes any!
December 19: Nineteenth Day of Advent
If you didn't guess from
my previous gift of a Wolverine poster, Hubby really likes
The Wolverine. As far a super heroes go I think his top two are Batman and Wolverine. For today's gift I got him a copy of the Blue Ray & DVD set so he can watch it whenever he wants.
I wish i got a Wolverine poster. I'm so jealous! Haha!
ReplyDeleteI remember watching that movie with my class, back in 1st or 2nd grade! Haha! It seems so long ago! :O

Hah, that's so funny! You elementary school sounds awesome! This movie is the sequel, so it just came out on DVD a month or so ago. I had never seen X-Men before this movie, but after watching it I've had Hubby go back and watch the previous movies with me too because I enjoyed it so much!
ReplyDeleteHow festive! I'm gonna have to do this next year!!!! Such a cute idea!
