Today's Look & A Brand New Camera

Share it Please
For Christmas I got a brand new camera! I'm really stoked about it and hope that the pictures taken for this blog will be much better in the future! I plan on reading through the entire users manual this weekend so I know what I'm doing. Even while playing around with the camera I've noticed a great improvement over my camera phone, especially in low-light. I cannot wait to learn everything I possibly can about it so I can take superb pictures for you. I'm probably going to need a lot of coaching before I get there, but hopefully you will notice the quality improve soon.

Today's Look

Modcloth is one of those websites I frequently visit, drool over the clothing, and then never buy anything. It isn't because I don't want to, the clothing is gorgeous. The problem is that buying clothes online makes me nervous. I'm always afraid I will purchase something that doesn't fit and then not be able to easily return it. This Christmas I took the plunge, with other people's money of course. I put a bunch of Modcloth on my Christmas list because their free returns policy sounds pretty easy. I got two dresses. One doesn't fit and has to go back, I'll report on that experience, the other fits like an absolute dream. I love it more than words can tell. The Guest of Honor Dress is one of the most flattering dresses I have ever worn and extremely comfortable. I bought the original pattern and then found out that it comes in four other patterns. I now think I need each and every one. In fact, I plan to get a second one once I'm credited for my return.

This dress is thick enough to stay warm in winter. I paired it with thick, skin colored tights and the Baking Date Socks in Anise (also a Christmas present). The dress is comfortable and stretchy. The skirt hits right above my knees and I'm 5'8", so that's a bit of a miracle. I feel like I could eat a huge meal and still look good in this dress, which is a definite plus in my book.

Did you get any Christmas presents from companies you've been dying to try? Tell me about it below!

  3. Congratulations on your new camera! Very exciting! I need one of those myself : )
I frequently visit Modcloth.com and obsess over their dresses but have never taken the plunge and actually purchased one (for the same reasons you mentioned). I'm happy to hear you were pleased with the dress, which is adorable by the way! Let us know how the return goes....then maybe I'll finally go for it and buy one! ♥

    1. Thank you! Haha, I know! It really confuses people! That's why I always call him 'Hubby' in my blog, otherwise it sounds like I'm talking in the third person.

  8. That modcloth dress is to die for on you! I'm the same way with that site, literally drooling every time I look at it! I got a few things from there for Christmas, so it was a good year :)

Wishing you all the best in 2014!
