eShakti Review: Star Print Sweetheart Dress

Share it Please

FTC Disclosure: I received this dress from eShakti for review, all opinions are my own.
I'm very excited to review the Star Print Sweetheart Dress from eShakti today! I admit, I was originally drawn to this dress because of it's sweetheart neckline. I adore sweetheart necklines, but it seems that most of them come on strapless dresses and I really hate wearing strapless dresses. Lucky for me this dress has nice thick straps that easily covered my bra straps, meaning this dress turned out to even be work place appropriate!

Another reason I chose this dress was the pretty little red bow belt. I was originally worried that the bow would not be sturdy and would flop once I put it on, but eShakti used some sort of thick rope inside the bow so it holds it shape nicely. I sent it through the washing machine yesterday and the bow still stood strong.

The one downfall I found with this dress is that it isn't lined. Of course many dresses are not lined, but I definitely prefer a skirt that is opaque. I fixed this easily enough by wearing a slip skirt. Because of the dark color of the fabric I was able to get away with a black slip and none were the wiser.

Of course those of you who already know about eShakti know that the best part of their clothing line is the custom tailoring! The first time you customize an outfit it's free and then each time the dress costs an extra $7.50. As someone who has taken clothing to a tailor I can tell you that is a steal. On many dresses you can customize the length of the skirt (do you want it above the knee or below?), sleeve type, and sometimes even the neckline! On all outfits you can send your personal measurements (shoulder, chest, bust, under bust, waist, hip, length of arm, upper arm, and height) and have them made specifically for you! This is a bit of a Godsend for me. My bust and hips are the same size, but my waist is 10 inches smaller. The size difference is so great that my bust and hips are a full size larger than my waist. This often makes shopping tricky. If I fit my waist the bust and hips are too tight. If I fit my bust and hips I don't look very shapely because you can't see my waist at all. The custom sizing allowed me to avoid any problems deciding on size and have it fit just right from the get go!

An added bonus with this dress, it was perfect for the 4th of July! I wore it all day on Friday and felt very festive and comfortable, even in the 100 degree heat. I had to take a 4th of July picture because the dress was too perfect. From my personal experience I would recommend shopping at eShakti, especially if you are a hard to fit gal like me. 3. Very cute! I love it that you can customize the size. Usually off the rack dresses are way too short for me to feel comfortable, but now I have a choice in length, cut, etc. Neat idea!

    1. Yeah, it is really nice to be able to choose the length and have it custom made. The dresses are a little pricier, but considering that you are having it tailored to fit, it's really a very good price. :)

    1. Thank you! I think more and more companies are lining their dresses today, which is really nice. But for those who don't, thank goodness for slips!

    1. Thank you! And yes, while it was truly perfect for the 4th, I think it will be a good dress for summer since it's light weight, and the darker colors and longer length will work through early fall, too. Thanks for reading!
