Literary Libations: Honey Apple Bourbon

Share it Please
I love a good transitional drink, a safe go-to any time of the year. This is one of those drinks. An additional plus, it's so simple a 5 year old could make it (disclaimer: please do not let your 5 year olds actually make this)! You only need two, count 'em, two ingredients.

Simply pour two ounces of bourbon in a tall glass and top off with apple juice. If you want it to be stronger you can always use less juice. It's so simple! Technically you could use any apple juice to make this, but I prefer to use a thick, full bodied juice and Simply Apple meets that requirement. As far as the bourbon, Wild Turkey is the only honey bourbon I've ever used, so I can't compare. I do know that the combination of these two liquids is sensationally delicious.

Now, what makes this drink transition so easily? Well, for the last few days of summer you can make this, throw a couple ice cubes in your glass, and head outside to lounge by the pool with a good book. In a month or so, when fall is in full swing, you can replace the apple juice with mulled cider and curl up by the fire place with a good book (notice the activity is transitional too). Happy Monday!
