The Budget Renovation

Share it Please
It's amazing how much a small change can make a familiar place new. I'm the type of person who likes to make over my house and I frequently change my decor with the holidays and seasons. I like changes and I like to celebrate them.

In today's case I decided to change my living room. We received a wonderful, barely used couch from relatives. The couch is very large and very comfortable and very floral. The pattern is actually very nice (which cannot be said about all floral couches) however since our living room is small and the couch is large it was also a little overwhelming. The solution is a simple one, a couch cover and new throw pillows! The couch cover works well for two reasons: 1) it matches the couch to the space, and 2) it is machine washable and removable, so if our dog gets it dirty or hairy all I have to do is throw it in the wash. One day if I have a nice open living room with lots of windows, wooden floors, and the white walls that I dream of,  I would uncover it again. And hopefully, when I do uncover it, it will still look brand new because it has been protected the whole time.

  3. I actually really like the after. The white kind of like makes it look smaller and the green pillows look great with the white background. Great job!
