How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical

Share it Please

One of Hubby and I's friends from university dropped by this week because he is on tour with How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical and they came through Albuquerque! He currently plays second trumpet in the band. Since he was working we didn't get to spend as much time with him as we might of liked, but it was great to see him for a little while and we got to see him perform on Saturday.

The musical is a blast! I grew up watching the original cartoon film every single Christmas and I'm pretty sure I could recite the whole story by heart. For me it was really fun to hear the classic songs (You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch is always a classic) as well as see how they were portrayed. An older version of Max the dog narrates the show and gives a bit of new perspective to the little dog. The actors, especially the Grinch and older Max, even interacted with audience which really helped draw everyone in to the magic of the occasion. The costumes are vibrantly colorful, the music fun and engaging, and the actors well-timed and high energy. The show is definitely fun and appropriate for all ages. If you have little ones, though, be prepared as the show is approximately 90 minutes with no intermission. This didn't appear to be a problem for any of the families around us, though, as the kids were too engaged to notice or care. We laughed out loud at many parts of the show. It's the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit and they will be traveling to 8 more cities before this tour is over. I highly recommend that you pick up tickets now!
