Literary Libations: Fireball Cider

Share it Please

A Fireball Cider is one of my all time favorite cocktails once the weather begins to drop below freezing. The Fireball whiskey is warming and added to the cider gives it a delicious cinnamon flavor. Careful, though, the addition of whiskey can make these little cocktails knock you off your feet before you even realize it, and they are dangerously easy to make. All there is to it is 1 to 2 ounces of Fireball whiskey topped with your favorite cider, I normally use Hornsby's Crisp Apple Cider. Mmm, drink in front a roaring fire for maximum enjoyment.

Of course a good cocktail should be accompanied by good friends or a good book. Currently I'm reading The Girl Who Played With Fire, the sequel to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. For now I'll give you the description from the back of the book, in my next review I'll give my opinion and it will be full of juicy spoilers. I've been truly enjoying and highly recommend that you pick up your own copy.

Part blistering espionage thriller, part riveting police procedural, and part piercing exposé on social injustice, The Girl Who Played with Fire is a masterful, endlessly satisfying novel.

Mikael Blomkvist, crusading publisher of the magazine Millennium, has decided to run a story that will expose an extensive sex trafficking operation. On the eve of its publication, the two reporters responsible for the article are murdered, and the fingerprints found on the murder weapon belong to his friend, the troubled genius hacker Lisbeth Salander. Blomkvist, convinced of Salander’s innocence, plunges into an investigation. Meanwhile, Salander herself is drawn into a murderous game of cat and mouse, which forces her to face her dark past.
